Each series consists of approximately 200 pieces of blown glass bottles with a capacity of 250 ml (8.45 FL.OZ.) , screen printed with an original design and serial number.

All the screen printing show the historical episode we have chosen, that of the Marquis Bonifacio, father of Matilda of Canossa, who donates a small silver barrel containing the precious vinegar to King Henry III in the year 1046 AD.

Episode told in “Vita mathildis”, a biography of the life of Countess Matilda, written by the monk Donizone in 1046 AD, the first document that describes a very particular and sought-after vinegar in the Reggio Emilia area.

The idea is based on the possibility of stylistically modifying the event.

For the first series the drawings are in medieval style – The bottle is completed with the screen printing that reproduces the signature of Matilde di Canossa in the original frame.

2° SERIES GL 13 –  N. BOTTLES 199

The scenes of the second series are in Louis XV costume. The representation is completed by the representation of Giovanni Cavalli who takes the vinegar from the historic family barrels.

3° SERIES GL 13/2  – N. BOTTLES 200

For the third series, references from Klimt are recognizable. The representation is completed by the screen printing illustrating the Marquis Bonifacio leaving the castle of Canossa accompanied by his soldiers.
